Mr. Gallican Kubwimana is the Deputy Program Director of the Einstein-Rwanda Research and Capacity Building (ER-RCBP). Mr. Kubwimana has more than 12 years of experience in senior leadership positions at various research and health organizations involved in HIV care, treatment and prevention and research related to NCDs, including the Ministry of Health/Rwanda Biomedical Center, and Partners in Health. Mr. Kubwimana’s research interests include cost effectiveness research related to early detection of cervical cancer among women living with the HIV, as well as cancer and HIV database linkage studies. He supports work on several training grants in Rwanda, while managing a U54 grant on HIV/HPV cancer prevention, treatment and pathogenesis, along with the CA-IeDEA grant and related supplements.
Mr. Kubwimana holds a Master’s of Business Administration from Kampala International University, with additional training in NIH/NIAID grant management and in leadership skills and health project management. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Health and Management at the Institut Superieur de Technologies (IST). Mr. Kubwimana also serves as the chairperson for Research for Development (RD Rwanda), which provides support to local and external research teams engaged in research in Rwanda.
