Dr. Heidi E. Jones has over 20 years of research experience as a reproductive health epidemiologist, with extensive expertise in implementation science on contraceptive delivery and sexually transmitted infection diagnosis and management in resource-limited settings. She has also worked on clinical trials studying HIV prevention and pregnancy prevention methods. Her research interests include developing ways to improve reproductive and sexual health outcomes while maintaining individuals’ autonomy over reproductive and sexual health decisions, increasing safe contraceptive methods for women living with HIV, validating women-friendly methods to increase cervical cancer screening, and assessing HIV/STI acquisition risk for hormonal contraceptive methods.
Dr. Jones has a PhD in Epidemiology from Columbia University and an MPH in Community Health Education from Hunter College. She is an Associate Professor in Epidemiology & Biostatistics and the Director of the Doctoral Program in Epidemiology at the CUNY School of Public Health.
