Country Principal Investigator
Democratic Republic of the CongoDr. Pélagie Babakazo Is the Principal Investigator for Central Africa IeDEA in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Dr. Babakazo completed her medical degree at the University of Kinshasa School of Medicine, with a specialization in Pediatrics. She subsequently completed a Masters and PhD in Public Health at the Kinshasa School of Public Health, and is currently Professor of Medicine and Public Health at the Kinshasa School of Medicine and the Kinshasa School of Public Health, University of Kinshasa.
Dr. Babakazo has more than two decades of experience in the design and implementation of research projects using both quantitative and qualitative approaches. She is particularly interested in children’s health and nutritional problems.
