With supplement funding, Central Africa IeDEA is leading research to examine the influence of climate change on HIV care outcomes. Leveraging publicly available climate databases and data for close to 2 million patients in care at IeDEA sites across 44 countries since 2004, this research is focused on characterizing the associations between heavy rainfall and drought and HIV care outcomes, such as the timeliness of treatment initiation, engagement and retention in HIV care, viral load monitoring and HIV viral suppression.
